Next Market: Finders Keepers Brisbane November 8-10th
I am SO excited to let everyone know that I am going to be selling my jewellery at my first ever Finders Keepers market!
This years Spring / Summer Christmas market is on from 8th-10th November. At the Brisbane Showgrounds in the Marquee. Entry is $5.
You can find me in the DEBUT section which is jam packed with tiny stalls of up and coming new stall holders at Finders Keepers.
I am actually a bit torn about exhibiting as I won’t have much time to go and visit the other stalls, so drop by and tell me what you have bought and your favourites! Hopefully I get to see most of it over the weekend 😊
Click you are going on the facebook page to get reminders, sneak peeks of sellers and help spread the word about the market to all your friends.
You can find my profile in the members directory. Visit the Brisbane line up page where you can see the other stallholders that will be there on the day.
Never been to a Finders Keepers Market before?
If you have never been to a Finders Keepers market before I HIGHLY recommend you come check it out. They do a market in Melbourne and Sydney too - I have visited the Sydney one several times and I always make a day of it (child free!) to soak it all up.
There is lots of yummy food and drink, live music and activities for the kids. You could even go multiple times over the weekend. I know, it sounds crazy but this really is the BEST market and worth it if you don’t manage to get to many markets. You have all the best sellers in the one place. There are many sellers who come from interstate so you have a chance to see their work in person. They are on twice a year in each city, in winter and summer.
There are LOADS of stalls. Over 200. Which is a lot to take in. I always set aside the whole day so I can take my time, do one loop and take a break for food and to mull over they things I loved and then go back for another look.
Finders keepers is a great place to buy from a large variety of independent fashion brands - I have bought most of my favourite clothes items from here over the last few years.
The markets are super high quality - the best Australian brands. All businesses are Australian owned, mostly handmade by the maker and some produced ethically overseas. There is a strong sustainable and ethical focus in the selection of sellers for the markets.
I love using my money to support other small businesses and buy local, it is wonderful to build a home of unique pieces with a story. Every bit we spend in small businesses helps them survive and we can continue to have these wonderful unique, quality and innovative options! It takes a little bit more planning but it is so worth it to consider your purchases and wait to buy them from the great new seller you just discovered! #lovefindkeep #conciousconsumerism
Tips for visiting Finders Keepers
Get there early, or later in the afternoon.
I love the idea of visiting with friends on Friday night and having a drink.
Collect business cards so you can follow the people you like online, even take notes on the card of what you liked. Especially if you have limited time or kids and can’t stop for long! It can get overwhelming as there are so many beautiful things.
There are always new stalls in the Debut section so make a point of visiting this section if you are a regular at Finders Keepers Markets.
I save up all my clothes purchases for this market. I spend lots in one day but it is money I have saved by not shopping at big stores through the year. I much prefer to try things on in person then I can always order online after knowing it will fit. I love the wardrobe I am building up of local and handmade items. They fit me better, are much better quality, are natural materials and last longer.
My other favourite and recommended markets to visit
If you are based in Sydney or Melbourne I recommend the Big Design Market too, coming next week (20th-22nd September) to Sydney and in December to Melbourne.
If you are in Canberra - you must visit the Handmade Markets!
Another market for the best of handmade locally are the Etsy Made Local markets. The Brisbane Etsy markets are on 30th Nov / 1st Dec this year at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
I won’t be there selling but I will be there shopping! 😂
